Giveaway time!
I’m offering free copies of “To Keep the Non-Euclidean at Bay”, a dark science fantasy short story inspired by my novel Blessed is the Rot. All that’s required to receive a copy is a sign-up to my monthly author newsletter. However, if you prefer to avoid mailing lists, the short story is also available for purchase here.
The Story
Even in a world beset by corrupted pockets of space-time, mankind is still its own worst enemy.
Bishop Horens is loyal, so loyal that she’ll brave the dangers of travel to act as a diplomat to Rotatia, a city threatening to break away from the Church. But few are willing to accompany her. Even fewer are skilled enough to protect her from the corrupted pockets of space-time that haunt their world. Surveyor Thatchhold is one such person, and he will ensure they make it to Rotatia, despite his borderline rebellious beliefs.
Still, the journey and the maverick surveyor are the least of the bishop’s worries. Her real work will begin when she arrives in Rotatia, where she’ll have to employ all her powers of persuasion. But can she really convince the renegade clergyfolk to see reason when she doesn’t even know the cause for their defection? Or will she falter when she learns of the lies the Church peddles?
Take a peek. See if you like my style, and if so, preorder a copy of Blessed is the Rot here.
